Titillating Tuesday: my writing

We are writing three to five published poetic pieces for my writing class this semester. My pieces are a type of anthology and tell a story about a particular time in my life. The anthology is called Watershed. Here is my first piece.

The rage built up inside me
A hurricane behind an ill built dam
trying to hold back the flood.

I open my mouth.

The lioness on the prowl
the antelope's jugular pulsating in my eye.

I open my mouth.

The words I so thoughtfully planned
calculating the strength behind the hate
slicing you to the very core

I open my mouth.

A rabid dog ready to draw first blood
going in for the kill.

I open my mouth.

Absolutely nothing fills the air
the silent screams of words
left unspoken.

I close my mouth.

musical monday: The promise

This is one of my all time favorites. Such bittersweet is life.

If you wait for me
then I'll come for you
Although I've traveled far
I always hold a place for you in my heart

If you think of me
If you miss me once in awhile
Then I'll return to you
I'll return and fill that space in your heart

Remembering
Your touch
Your kiss
Your warm embrace
I'll find my way back to you
If you'll be waiting

If you dream of me
L like I dream of you
In a place that's warm and dark
In a place where I can feel the beating of your heart

Remembering
Your touch
Your kiss
Your warm embrace
I'll find my way back to you
If you'll be waiting

I've longed for you
A and I have desired
To see your face your smile
To be with you wherever you are

Remembering
Your touch
Your kiss
Your warm embrace
I'll find my way back to you
Please say you'll be waiting

Together again
It would feel so good to be
In your arms
Where all my journeys end
If you can make a promise
If it's one that you can keep
I vow to come for you
If you wait for me

And say you'll hold
A place for me
I in your heart.

Silly Saturday: Visit to the doctor

I didn't get to post yesterday, so I wanted you all in on the sit-comdey that goes on in my daily life. I went to the doctor on Thursday for a check up. Well I hadn't been in a while, so I had to fill out one of those little list things...you know...the ones where they ask if there is any history of cancer, depression, heart disease, etc. So I'm filling this list out and they ask me...

Do you have trouble remembering to put on your seat belt?

uhhh? Does this mean I have dementia if I do?

Thirsty Thursday: weekend reader

Why do similar countries have different teen pregnancy rates?

I will never take Midol again...

MLK rolled over in his grave. White Separatist protest in Jena

I'm really tired of these kinds of jokes. They aren't funny. I'm not a Hillary fan, but you are starting to make me be one.

Feminist are forcing women to go to college when all they want to be is homemakers? Really?

The kind of "marriage" I think is worth having.

Finally, Home births are coverd under insurance, well in N.H.! Actresses that help bring light to how hospitals and doctors are the ones profit from births in hospitals.

Teenagers are asking for support after giving birth so they can finish school and bond with their babies.

Say no to violence against women. Sign the petition.

Have fun, read often.

Musical Monday: Trouble

I'm feeling a bit onry today...we shall see.

If you're looking for trouble
You came to the right place
If you're looking for trouble
Just look right in my face
I was born standing up
And talking back
My daddy was a green-eyed mountain jack
Because I'm evil, my middle name is misery
Well I'm evil, so don't you mess around with me

I've never looked for trouble
But I've never ran
I don't take no orders
From no kind of man
I'm only made out
Of flesh, blood and bone
But if you're gonna start a rumble
Don't you try it on alone
Because I'm evil, my middle name is misery
Well I'm evil, so don't you mess around with me
I'm evil, evil, evil, as can be
I'm evil, evil, evil, as can be
So don't mess around don't mess around don't mess around with me
I'm evil, I'm evil, evil, evil
So don't mess around, don't mess around with me
I'm evil, I tell you I'm evil
So don't mess around with me
Yeah!

Musical Monday: Just the way you are

Yes, this is for you...

Don't go changing, to try and please me
You never let me down before
Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore
I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are

Don't go trying some new fashion
Don't change the color of your hair
You always have my unspoken passion
Although I might not seem to care

I don't want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are.

I need to know that you will always be
The same old someone that I knew
What will it take till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you.

I said I love you and that's forever
And this I promise from the heart
I could not love you any better
I love you just the way you are.

Sunday

I decided to put a little joke here since I missed Funny Friday...and since the Colts play today. I know they don't play the Patriots, but I still think this is appropriate (somehow).

Four football fans - a Cowboys fan, an
Eagles fan, a Colts fan, and a Patriots fan - are climbing
a mountain and arguing about who loves his team more.

The Cowboys fan insists he is the most
loyal. 'This is for the Cowboys!' he yells, and jumps off the side of
the mountain.

Not to be outdone, the Eagles fan shouts,
'This is for the Eagles!' and throws himself off the mountain.

The Colts fan is next to profess his love
for his team.

He yells, 'This is for everyone!' and
pushes the Patriot fan off the mountain.

Now go and enjoy your day, and Cheer for the Colts Repeat Super Bowl Champions!

Thirsty Thursday Reader

I don't have much time for a full length reader right now. I haven't had much time to get online due to a sick child and no sleep (yeah me). I did think this was a funny link, and if you all enjoy drinking games and politics (it's like, yea, my favorite past time), then you should really play this game. Thanks to Feministing for the rules...

The Privileged Political Pundit Drinking Game
  • Drink anytime someone refers to Clinton's teary moment in NH as "crying," "sobbing," "weepy," or "contrived."
  • Take a drink for every "magical negro" reference to Obama.
  • Take one drink anytime someone calls Clinton "shrill" or "screechy."
  • Chug one whenever you hear of, see, or read Maureen Dowd. Always.
  • Two drinks anytime anyone expresses the sentiment that Edwards is at a disadvantage because he isn't black or female.
  • Take a shot when a pundit refers to Clinton as (or implies she is) a nagging bitch or cackling witch.
  • Drink for any lamenting that white-dude voters are being ignored.
  • Take a healthy gulp every time someone describes Obama as "clean" or "articulate."
  • Take two shots whenever someone implies that women only vote with their vaginas.
  • Warning: Do not watch Chris Matthews under any circumstances--doing so could induce alcohol poisoning.

Musical Monday: What I got!

On my way home yesterday, I realized how loved I was. YOU Can't hold me down now! =)

Early in the morning, risin' to the street
Light me up that cigarette and I strap shoes on my feet
Got to find a reason, a reason things went wrong
Got to find a reason why my money's all gone
I got a dalmation, and I can still get high
I can play the guitar like a mother fucking riot

Well, life is (too short), so love the one you got
'Cause you might get runover or you might get shot
Never start no static I just get it off my chest
Never had to battle with no bulletproof vest
Take a small example, take a tip from me
Take all of your money, give it all to charity
Love is what I got
It's within my reach
And the Sublime style's still straight from Long Beach
It all comes back to you, you'll finally get what you deserve
Try and test that you're bound to get served
Love's what I got
Don't start a riot
You'll feel it when the dance gets hot

Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that
Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that
Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that
Lovin', is what I got

(That's) why I don't cry when my dog runs away
I don't get angry at the bills I have to pay
I don't get angry when my Mom smokes pot
Hits the bottle and goes right to the rock
Fuckin' and fightin', it's all the same
Livin' with Louie dog's the only way to stay sane
Let the lovin', let the lovin' come back to me

Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that
Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that
Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that
Lovin', is what I got, I got I got I got
